Marvel Studios officially confirmed during a panel at New York Comic Con on October 8, 2026, that Daredevil: Born Again will conclude its run with its upcoming third season. Scheduled to premiere in March 2027, the final eight-episode installment will serve as a definitive ending for the revival series.
The decision to end the series follows a period of transition for the production. Showrunner Dario Scardapane reportedly saw his contract end in September 2026 during the post-production phase of the final season. This move comes amid reports from Luminate indicating a 50% decline in viewership for Season 2 compared to the show’s debut season. Season 2 concluded its run on Disney+ on May 5, 2026.

While the series is reaching its finale, the third season is positioned as a significant event for the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel has confirmed that the Defenders will officially reunite in the final season, with Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, and Finn Jones set to appear alongside Charlie Cox. This marks the first time the primary cast of the former Netflix street-level heroes has assembled since the 2017 limited series.
Acknowledging the dedicated fan base that supported the character’s return to the screen, Cox jokingly suggested during recent press appearances that the “Save Daredevil” campaign might need to prepare for a “round two.”
To ensure the series provides a sense of closure, recent reshoots were conducted in Brooklyn to rework the narrative into a series finale. While this specific iteration of the Daredevil story is ending, the character’s survival in the MCU remains a focal point for fans, especially given the high-profile nature of the upcoming Defenders reunion.
