Ghosts Alum Asif Ali Cast as Vampire Bureaucrat in Eternally Yours

The supernatural comedy landscape on CBS is expanding its roster of familiar faces. During a joint panel at New York Comic Con on October 10, 2026, producers confirmed that actor Asif Ali is joining the cast of the new vampire sitcom Eternally Yours.

Ali will step into the role of Igor. Unlike the more whimsical spirits often found in the network’s supernatural hits, Igor is described as a humorless, bureaucratic vampire who serves as a member of the Vampire Council. Both this series and Ghosts are led by showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman.

This casting reinforces the shared creative DNA between the two shows, which have become centerpieces of the network’s Thursday night comedy block.

The panel also revealed that veteran comedian Tim Meadows has signed on for a guest-starring role. Meadows is set to play Dr. Edwards, a character uniquely described as a “vampire dentist.” According to reporting from TV Insider, these casting additions come as the series establishes its own footprint following its October 8 premiere.

The rise of Eternally Yours has directly impacted the broader CBS schedule. The new series has occupied the 8:30 PM Thursday time slot, a position previously held by Ghosts. As a result, the sixth season of Ghosts is currently slated for a midseason premiere in early 2027, though holiday specials are expected to bridge the gap for fans during the winter months.

The development of Eternally Yours represents a long-term goal for Port and Wiseman; the project was originally written as a pilot in 2015, years before the duo successfully launched the American adaptation of Ghosts. By utilizing comedic talent like Ali, the showrunners appear to be cementing a cohesive supernatural universe for the network’s audience.
