## A New Look for a Classic Icon

While the hockey mask is synonymous with the Friday the 13th brand, it did not appear until the third film in the original series. Crystal Lake intends to honor this progression by introducing a “different” mask for Jason. Showrunner Brad Caleb Kane confirmed that Jason will wear a mask in the series, but it will be a “different” mask fans have seen before, likely the burlap sack.

The series stars Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees, and Callum Vinson plays young Jason Voorhees.

## Reimagining the 1980 Boathouse Kills

Fans of the original 1980 film will recognize specific sequences in the new series. The show features shot-for-shot recreations of the original 1980 movie’s boathouse scenes where counselors Barry and Claudette were killed.

The decision to release the entire season as a binge-drop on October 15, 2026, aligns the premiere with the Halloween season, marking the first major live-action Friday the 13th project in over fifteen years.
