Risk of Rain 2 received patch 1.005.001 on October 8, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. This update officially integrates the Hallowed Concepts DLC content into the current-gen console versions, introducing new survivors, items, and significant balance adjustments to the Seekers of the Storm expansion mechanics.
New Survivors and Item Additions
The primary addition in this update is the arrival of two survivors. The Enforcer is now available and unlocked by default. The Acolyte has also been added and is unlocked through gameplay progression. Commando players also gain a new Special skill titled “Sabotage.”
The patch introduces several new item categories to the loot pool:
- 14 Hexes: New negative-utility or high-risk items.
- 11 Hallowed Items: Rare items specific to the new DLC content.
- 3 Standard Items: General items added to the base game pool.
The expansion’s audio continues to feature work by composer Stavros Markonis, who returned for the Seekers of the Storm content.
Halcyon Shrine and Resource Rebalancing
Gearbox has implemented a significant change to how Halcyon Shrines interact with stage generation. On Stage 1, these shrines now consume 40 stage spawn credits, an increase from 0. This adjustment requires players to prioritize activating the shrine versus other interactables on the map.
To compensate for the resource cost, the gold siphoning speed of the Halcyon Shrine has been increased from 5 to 7 ticks per second, allowing players to complete the encounter more quickly.
Enemy and Survivor Adjustments
Several balance changes target the difficulty of recent encounters. Solus enemies, including Solus Scorchers, Extractors, and Mines, have had their armor reduced by 50%. The False Son survivor has also seen a minor nerf, with a hidden 1% critical-hit chance being removed (set to 0%).
Key gameplay fixes include:
- Engineer: The Bubble Shield now correctly blocks damage from explosions that originate outside the shield’s radius.
- Longstanding Solitude: To prevent softlocks in the Gilded Coast, this item now converts into a Pearl once the player reaches the level cap.
For a full technical breakdown of these changes, players can refer to the official 2K Support documentation. This patch is currently specific to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S hardware.
