RuneScape Dragonwilds Update 1.0.1 Patch Notes: Inventory and Recovery

Jagex has released Update 1.0.1 (Build 1.001.000) for RuneScape Dragonwilds, introducing an inventory expansion and a recovery system for players affected by save corruption. The patch is available across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch 2.

The update increases inventory capacity from 32 slots to 40 slots. To address technical issues with character data, Jagex has also implemented a save recovery mechanic. Players with corrupted characters will now receive a recovery package that includes aggregated stats and a set of Tier 4 gear to restore lost progress.

Combat and Equipment Changes

This update introduces the “Death From Above!” perk, a new combat skill that allows for a downward slam attack. Players can trigger this move by inputting an attack command while above the arc of a double-jump. Additionally, the user interface now features dedicated equipment slots specifically for Rings and Amulets.

Balance adjustments have been made to ranged combat and utility items:

  • Rune Ammunition: Damage multipliers for Rune Arrows and Rune Bolts have been increased to 4.9x, up from the previous 4.2x.
  • Divine Rock: The cooldown for this item has been extended to 1,800 seconds, an increase from 1,500 seconds.

Fixes and Multiplayer Compatibility

Update 1.0.1 addresses a progression exploit within the Scorned Wilderness Raid, where ores were previously respawning immediately upon player teleportation. This fix ensures resource gathering remains within intended limits during raid encounters.

For multiplayer stability, Jagex has resolved a connectivity bug affecting PC players. Users with emojis in their platform usernames can now successfully join worlds hosted by players on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S. More technical details regarding this build are available via the official Steam News update.

What This Changes for Players

The shift to 40 inventory slots provides more capacity during resource-gathering trips, while the buff to Rune ammunition increases the damage of high-tier ranged builds. Players utilizing the Divine Rock will need to account for the additional five minutes of cooldown time between uses. For those who lost characters due to technical errors, the Tier 4 gear provision serves as a baseline to return to high-level activities.
