Updated October 15, 2026. The best AI logo generator is not necessarily the tool that produces the prettiest preview. A useful business logo must remain legible at favicon size, export cleanly for a sign or printed package, use type and icons you can lawfully deploy, and remain accessible after a promotional subscription ends. Our research-first shortlist favors Looka Premium for a one-time complete logo package, Brandmark Basic for unusually transparent vector-inclusive pricing, Wixel for an actively developed prompt-and-edit workflow, and LOGO.com for continuing brand assets. Free options from Zarla and Namecheap deserve serious consideration before buying a PNG-only tier.
Research disclosure: AsumeTech did not generate the same logo brief in all eight services, conduct blind designer panels, measure vector path quality, or verify individual customer checkouts. The rankings are weighted editorial suitability assessments based on first-party plan terms, documented export capabilities, independent professional reporting, and stated limitations. No score is an image-quality benchmark or legal clearance. Prices below are public regional snapshots and can change at checkout. An SVG download is not a guarantee that every glyph or object is independently editable, that fonts are licensed for redistribution, or that the mark is exclusive.
This is a specialist logo-and-brand-identity buying guide, not another broad AI image generator roundup. Image generators can create interesting illustrations, but a commercial logo has additional requirements: transparent exports, repeatable variants, font control, brand templates, and trademark clearance. For broader creative-assistant selection, consult our published Best AI Chatbots of 2026 pillar.
Quick comparison: eight released AI logo-making services
| Pick | Exact product or plan | Public price, Oct. 15 snapshot | Practical export position | Research-only editorial score |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| P001 | Looka Premium Logo Package | US$65 one time; Basic $20 PNG | Premium SVG, EPS, PDF, transparent PNG | 8.9/10 |
| P002 | Brandmark Basic | US$35 one time | PNG and vector stated in Basic | 8.7/10 |
| P003 | Wixel Basic by Wix | US$90/year; free tier available | PNG, JPG, SVG; AI edits consume credits | 8.6/10 |
| P004 | LOGO.com Brand Plan | US$15 monthly or $36 first annual promotional year | PNG, SVG, PDF; recurring brand kit | 8.5/10 |
| P005 | Design.com Starter | Advertised $3/mo annually; conflicting vendor FAQ, verify checkout | Paid/free-eligible vector downloads; eligibility varies | 8.3/10 (provisional value) |
| P006 | LogoAI Pro | US$20/mo; $10 seven-day trial auto-renews | Unrestricted downloads advertised; exact format/credits depend on feature | 8.1/10 |
| P007 | Zarla Free Logo Maker | Free | SVG plus transparent high-resolution PNG | 8.0/10 |
| P008 | Namecheap Logo Maker | Free | PNG and SVG, no payment/email required | 7.8/10 |
Price interpretation: A monthly equivalent billed annually is not a one-month purchase. A discounted first year is not the recurring renewal price. Free design previews may still require paid exports. Vendor pages can differ by country, logged-in status and promotion; we preserve contradictions rather than silently choosing the lowest number.
How we evaluated the products
Our transparent editorial rubric assigns 25% to production-ready files and vector/transparent exports; 20% to identity-system usefulness (variants, brand kit, templates); 20% to documented editing and typography control; 15% to true acquisition and renewal cost; 15% to licensing, ownership clarity and trademark-related cautions; and 5% to availability and pricing transparency. Scores are judgment-based weighted estimates, not a measured comparison of generated artwork. A missing or ambiguous feature is treated conservatively; we do not invent trial outcomes. For independent perspective, compare TechRadar’s Wix Logo Maker review, TechRadar’s 2026 free-logo-tool comparison and Fastio’s published eight-tool logo comparison. TechRadar’s older Wix review describes the legacy product, not a new hands-on test of Wixel.
Who is eligible: Each choice is a released, publicly offered logo-specific workflow. Some are prompt-led generative design studios, while others are AI-assisted icon, font and layout assemblers. We distinguish those categories. General-purpose image generators and unrelated photo editors are intentionally excluded, even when they can draw a symbol. Regional storefront access and payment acceptance are not universally verified; test checkout in your location before relying on a particular price.
P001 — Looka Premium Logo Package: best one-time full logo file set
Exact plan: Looka Premium Logo Package, not the cheaper Basic Logo Package or annual Brand Kit subscription. Looka’s help center quotes US$20 for Basic (one PNG) and US$65 for Premium. Its current pricing page lists high-resolution PNG, EPS, SVG and PDF files, transparent variants, multiple colors, and unlimited post-purchase design changes for Premium. Design and preview are free; downloading usable assets is the paid step. Looka’s package explanation and current package matrix provide the clearest source trail.
Why it makes the list: A one-time vector package separates logo ownership from the cost of a continuously updated brand kit. This is useful for a local business needing shop signage, a favicon, invoices and an editable file handed to a print shop. The layout/font customization documented by the vendor is more relevant here than a claim that its AI is artistically superior. Its US$96/year Brand Kit subscription adds branded templates and other assets; the Web variant is listed at US$129/year in Looka’s help center. Those recurring services should not be mistaken for the Premium logo purchase.
Tradeoffs and rights: Basic is not a vector deal. Premium includes several file types but does not guarantee that icon shapes are unique in your industry. Inspect fonts, icon provenance and whether any stock-like element is available to other customers. Looka says users retain logo rights after a Brand Kit subscription ends; copyright and trademark registrability still depend on law and actual originality. If you need a wholly bespoke mark, commissioning a designer and a trademark search may be safer than selecting a common generated icon. Brand Kit billing and rights are documented separately.
Best for: Founders who want a fixed-cost, print-capable deliverable. Editorial score: 8.9/10. No independent same-brief output-quality test was performed by AsumeTech.
P002 — Brandmark Basic: best transparent entry price for vector exports
Exact plan: Brandmark Basic, US$35 one time. Its official live price sheet explicitly includes PNG and vector logo files in Basic; Designer is $95 with source files, unlimited revisions, brand guidelines and stationery/social assets; Enterprise is $195 with up to ten handcrafted concepts and a font download. The site states no monthly charge and commercial/personal use rights. These are the vendor’s current amounts, which differ from older third-party roundups that still quote $25/$65/$175. Brandmark’s live price sheet is the pricing authority.
Why it makes the list: The biggest trap in inexpensive logo makers is a low sticker price that purchases only a small raster image. Brandmark reverses that on the currently displayed Basic tier: a vector is part of the entry purchase. Its guided AI-assisted composition and unlimited concept exploration can shorten early brainstorming, while the paid Designer package is a better fit if the business needs formal guidelines and consistent stationery. A single logo file is not the same thing as a complete identity system.
Tradeoffs and rights: The vendor’s word ‘vector’ does not by itself establish whether every text element arrives as editable outlines, whether a font license transfers, or which file extensions are included in your download; inspect the actual deliverables before approval. ‘Full copyright included’ is a vendor license representation, not a legal finding that all AI-assisted output is independently copyrightable or unique. Enterprise human concepts are not included in Basic. An agency requiring source files should compare the $95 Designer tier rather than assuming Basic contains everything.
Best for: One-off business identities where vector output matters more than monthly AI credits. Editorial score: 8.7/10. Independent comparisons may reflect outdated packages; always cross-check the live vendor page.
P003 — Wixel Basic by Wix: best AI-assisted logo iteration and editable design workspace
Exact plan: Wixel Basic, US$90/year on the US-facing annual price sheet, with 350 AI credits per month; a free Wixel tier is also offered. The US page displays 120 free AI credits per month, max 30/day and describes up to 20 example logo generations, but a Portuguese regional page shows a different weekly quota. Those are regional or documentation discrepancies, not a universal entitlement. The ‘up to’ output counts assume credits are spent only on one type of task and vary with prompt complexity. Wixel’s live plans give the official US-facing snapshot.
Why it makes the list: Wixel is Wix’s newer AI-powered design environment. Its logo workflow accepts natural-language descriptions and manual edits, can create brand themes, and supports downloading PNG, JPG and SVG in chosen sizes. Wix’s migration notice specifically distinguishes Wixel from the older Wix Logo Maker: high-quality Wixel logo downloads do not consume AI credits, while AI generation and AI edits do. The older product’s one-time logo-package pricing should not be reused for Wixel.
Tradeoffs and rights: Basic is an annual design subscription, not a one-time logo fee. If you only need one static SVG, the free allowance may be sufficient, subject to location and credit resets. Pro is listed at $290/year with 850 monthly credits and Max at $590/year with 2,000; website/domain vouchers have redemption conditions. No output is guaranteed trademark-exclusive. Wix’s independent TechRadar review found legacy Wix logo suggestions sometimes generic; that is contextual history, not evidence that the new Wixel AI was independently retested.
Best for: Small teams wanting prompt refinement and reusable branded design assets. Editorial score: 8.6/10. Verify your locale’s free-credit counter before upgrading.
P004 — LOGO.com Brand Plan: best continuing logo-and-brand workspace
Exact plan: LOGO.com Brand Plan. The vendor’s August 2026 product reference lists US$15/month or a promotional $36 for the first year on annual billing; it expressly describes a first-year discount, so $36 is not a promised perpetual renewal. The Free plan provides PNG only, while Brand provides PNG, SVG and PDF, multiple saved logos, brand guidelines, branded templates and cloud storage. The same reference specifies 100 AI image credits and 1,000 AI writing credits per billing cycle for Brand; those are not ‘unlimited logo quality’ metrics.
Why it makes the list: Logo.com is a more credible fit when a business needs to update its identity across social banners, stationery and a simple online presence than when it only wants to purchase one symbol. It combines a logo maker with a broader brand kit, which can be economical during a launch if the included assets replace other subscriptions. Its free PNG output is a practical way to explore the workflow without assuming the free tier supplies vectors.
Tradeoffs and rights: Check the actual renewal invoice and plan-specific saved-logo limit: the vendor reference shows one saved logo on Free and five on Brand. A full commercial-use statement is not a promise of an exclusive icon or a successful trademark registration. Logo.com comparison pages are vendor-authored marketing, not independent trials. A business that only needs one downloadable SVG should compare Brandmark Basic and Looka Premium against LOGO.com’s recurring costs over two or three years.
Best for: Entrepreneurs who need recurring branded materials after the first logo. Editorial score: 8.5/10. The discounted annual first year is not the same as the monthly list price.
P005 — Design.com Starter: broad branding templates, but pricing needs checkout confirmation
Exact plan: Design.com Starter, a logo-and-branding subscription rather than a one-time download. The company’s 2026 blog advertises US$3/month billed annually or $9 monthly, with logo vectors and access to extensive templates. However, its own purchasing FAQ says Starter is typically $25/month and describes discounts separately. We cannot reconcile those first-party prices without a live region-specific checkout; treat value scoring as provisional. Compare the vendor’s 2026 plan announcement with the FAQ rather than assuming the cheapest advertisement applies.
Why it makes the list: The service pairs AI-assisted logo creation with brand-consistent templates for cards, social graphics, email signatures and more. Some logos and files are advertised as free; the exact chosen design, asset type and subscription determine what a particular buyer can download. For a business launching a shop, that collection of repeatable assets may be more useful than a single attractive preview. Unlike a generic text-to-image generator, the workflow starts with a brand name and deployable marketing materials.
Tradeoffs and rights: The site’s FAQ says packages are subscription-based, not one-time purchases, although it suggests canceling a monthly subscription after one month for a one-time-like payment. Verify what you may keep and edit after cancellation, which template elements are reusable, and whether a selected mark has stock icon restrictions. The broad claim of ‘full ownership’ should not be confused with a completed trademark clearance search. We have not independently checked checkout or image similarity.
Best for: Businesses seeking many related brand templates, provided the final price is acceptable. Editorial score: 8.3/10, provisional on pricing transparency.
P006 — LogoAI Pro: logo creation plus AI brand assets on a metered subscription
Exact plan: LogoAI Pro at US$20/month with 500 AI credits/month on its live pricing page. A $10 seven-day trial offers 200 credits and automatically renews at $20/month unless canceled. This is materially different from older independent lists describing one-time LogoAI packages of $29/$59/$99; do not mix historical tiers with the current LogoAI Pro price sheet.
Why it makes the list: LogoAI combines a logo maker, brand-kit tools, logo animations and other design-studio generation in one subscription. Its plan advertises unrestricted downloads, with generation and advanced features charged against an AI credit balance. That is potentially useful to a marketing team that will create logo concepts and related brand visuals repeatedly, rather than a founder purchasing a single file once. The site explicitly says commercial use is included on paid plans.
Tradeoffs and rights: LogoAI states that export formats and advanced features can vary and may consume credits; we therefore do not claim that every SVG/vector or source file is included at no additional cost. Inspect the actual download menu for your design. The vendor itself warns that commercial use does not confer exclusivity or trademark registration. An ongoing $20 monthly plan can quickly exceed one-time packages if you only need a single logo. Privacy, prompts and uploaded brand assets should be reviewed against current terms before using confidential client material.
Best for: Teams making recurring logo concepts, brand videos and collateral. Editorial score: 8.1/10. Credits are usage allowances, not output-quality scores.
P007 — Zarla Free Logo Maker: best zero-cost SVG and transparent PNG path
Exact service: Zarla Free Logo Maker, not a paid Zarla website-publishing plan. The current official logo maker offers unlimited concept browsing and a free download after passwordless sign-in. It explicitly promises SVG and high-resolution transparent PNG without a watermark or logo-download fee. Its guided process asks for business name, industry, style and colors, then assembles industry-appropriate icons, fonts and layouts.
Why it makes the list: Many logo sites charge only when the user requests the actual vector. Zarla’s published terms are unusually straightforward about this distinction. For a market stall, new local service or side project, free vector export is useful even if the owner later commissions a distinctive mark. The workflow is better described as AI-assisted composition and template matching than as proof of original generative illustration. The vendor also offers a website builder, but publishing that website is a separate commercial decision.
Tradeoffs and rights: Zarla says downloaded logos can be used commercially without attribution, but a broadly available industry icon can still appear in another company’s design. No generator can promise that a stock-like symbol is legally exclusive. Evaluate the logo in monochrome and at 24 pixels, and perform similarity searches before putting it on packaging or a storefront. No published independent same-prompt vector-path benchmark was found for this exact current free service; its score is based on documented workflow and file availability, not measured design originality.
Best for: First-time founders needing free print-scalable files. Editorial score: 8.0/10. Free logo export does not imply free hosted websites.
P008 — Namecheap Logo Maker: best completely free AI-assisted font/icon combinations
Exact service: Namecheap Logo Maker, the free browser-based tool at Namecheap’s official logo maker page. The company explicitly offers free PNG and SVG downloads, with no payment or email capture required. Its guided system asks users to choose fonts and icons, then uses AI-assisted matching across fonts, colors and symbols. There is no monthly logo-generation quota or premium logo-export tier disclosed on that page; we do not invent a paid plan.
Why it makes the list: This is an accessible starting point for testing whether an inexpensive wordmark plus simple icon can serve a business. Its no-payment workflow avoids the surprise of discovering that the final vector is locked after spending time on a preview. SVG is useful for scaling, while PNG works for social profiles and websites. The available combinations can be adjusted quickly, but the service is closer to a guided icon/type assembler than an unconstrained image model.
Tradeoffs and rights: Namecheap itself tells users to consult a trademark lawyer for trademark matters and does not claim to provide clearance. Its large icon catalog is a practical advantage for speed and a potential disadvantage for exclusivity. A free download is not evidence that a particular symbol is novel. If your logo needs bespoke lettering, sophisticated spacing, a documented brand system or guaranteed source-file editability, plan additional designer work. No claim is made here about personally testing the current download pipeline in every region.
Best for: Budget-conscious creators who need a quick, usable SVG and PNG. Editorial score: 7.8/10.
How to buy the right AI logo without paying twice
1. Specify the files you actually need
For a website, ask for a transparent PNG and an SVG that stays sharp on high-density displays. For a printer, ask which vector format and color profile the shop accepts; SVG, EPS and PDF are not interchangeable promises. Open the downloaded file in a vector editor to check whether text, strokes and gradients are usable, and request black, white, horizontal, stacked and icon-only versions. A ‘vector’ checkbox on a pricing table does not certify the quality of the paths.
2. Separate ownership, commercial permission, copyright and trademark
Commercial-use permission is a contractual license. Copyright protection depends on the work and applicable law; US Copyright Office guidance addresses the human-authorship questions around generative AI. Trademark registration depends on distinctiveness and possible conflict with earlier marks, not on whether a tool advertises ‘full ownership’. The USPTO’s trademark clearance guidance recommends searching confusingly similar marks in related goods and services. Review US Copyright Office AI guidance separately. For an important brand, use a qualified professional for clearance; this article is not legal advice.
3. Audit fonts, icons and exclusivity
Ask whether fonts are included, licensed for the intended use, converted to outlines, or need separate purchase. Identify stock icons and any platform restrictions on redistribution. A generated symbol may resemble a competitor’s mark by coincidence or shared training/template inputs. Run image-similarity and trademark searches, check the mark in monochrome, and have a designer simplify it if necessary. We did not conduct individual trademark searches on logos produced by these vendors.
4. Price the finished identity, not the teaser
Compare the cost of the tier with SVG, transparent files and multiple layouts. A $20 raster-only download can be less useful than a $35 vector package. For subscriptions, compare the first-year promotion against standard renewal, unused AI credits, seat restrictions and whether editing access ends after cancellation. If the plan includes a website, domain or marketing templates, assess those as separate deliverables rather than counting them as free forever.
5. Treat sensitive business details carefully
Before entering a confidential product name, unreleased client brief or customer data, read the provider’s current privacy notice, retention and AI-training terms. Public marketing pages rarely establish whether private prompts are used for training or how long assets are retained. We have not audited vendor backends, SOC reports or regional data residency. When privacy terms are unclear, use a nonconfidential placeholder during exploration and verify contractual protections before uploading client material.
Which AI logo generator should you choose?
Choose Looka Premium when you want a predictable one-time file package with transparent and vector variations. Choose Brandmark Basic when the current $35 vector-inclusive entry price is the deciding factor. Choose Wixel if you will keep refining prompts and building a family of branded materials. Choose LOGO.com Brand if you want continuing identity templates and accept renewal costs. Choose Design.com only after reconciling its contradictory advertised and FAQ prices. Choose LogoAI Pro for recurring branding experiments with metered credits. Try Zarla or Namecheap first when your budget is zero and a free SVG would meet the immediate need.
The strongest logo is not the one with the highest automated score: it is the one that is readable, adaptable, licensed for its use and distinguishable from existing brands. The recommendations above are evidence-led buying guidance, not a substitute for design review or trademark clearance.
