Embark Studios has released update 1.000.065 for ARC Raiders, focusing on a mechanical overhaul for the Grappling Hook and adjustments to ARC Turbine spawn rates. The update is live as of October 20, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Grappling Hook and Movement Changes
A primary focus of this update is the refinement of Grappling Hook mechanics. Raiders now have increased mobility options while scaling vertical surfaces. The tool has been updated to allow for direct interactions with ladders and ziplines while the player is actively wall climbing. This change is intended to streamline navigation in complex environments.
ARC Turbine Distribution and Quest Updates
Resource gathering has been adjusted across several core maps to provide more predictable loot cycles. ARC Turbine spawn consistency has been increased in the following locations:
- Buried City
- Riven Tides
- Blue Gate
- Spaceport
Conversely, ARC Turbine spawns have been removed from standard Dam Battlegrounds sessions. This shift marks the Dam as a combat-centric zone rather than a primary turbine farming location.
The “To the Skies” quest also received a quality-of-life update. Players can now complete the quest at any installation location. Progress is no longer locked to the specific map where the initial objectives were started, providing more flexibility during extraction runs.
Combat Balance: The Hydra ARC Unit
The Hydra unit has undergone a balance pass that changes its behavior in group encounters. A technical fix now spreads its fire across multiple Raiders instead of focusing on a single target. To offset this change, Embark Studios has increased the Hydra’s base damage. This makes the unit a broader threat to squads while reducing the likelihood of a single player being instantly overwhelmed.
Stability and Technical Fixes
To address stability issues and mid-match crashes, update 1.000.065 includes memory optimization measures, including:
- Loot Spawning: Reduced memory footprint for systems managing item generation.
- Frigate Interiors: Optimized asset usage within Frigate interiors to improve performance.
