Steven Yeun and Logan Kim Cast as Father and Son in Netflix Series Pagans

Netflix has finalized the core cast for its upcoming supernatural drama Pagans, setting the stage for an on-screen reunion that effectively bridges a major gap in The Walking Dead history. The series will officially bring together Steven Yeun and Logan Kim to play a father and son, a dynamic their characters shared in the AMC zombie franchise but were never able to portray together on screen.

According to production details, Yeun will star as Gus, a widowed father struggling as the sole caretaker of two children. Logan Kim has been cast as his son, Nate, while newcomer Sabine Grace will make her television debut as his daughter, Alice. The cast is further bolstered by Marin Ireland in the role of Janelle and Intae Kim, who will play Gus’s brother.

The series follows a widowed father navigating a sinister shift in his family dynamics.

For fans of The Walking Dead, the casting of Yeun and Kim carries significant emotional weight. Yeun’s character, Glenn Rhee, was famously killed in the Season 7 premiere, long before the birth of his son, Hershel Rhee. Logan Kim currently portrays the teenage version of Hershel in the spinoff The Walking Dead: Dead City. Because of the timeline of the original series, the two actors never shared the screen, leaving the father-son relationship as one of the franchise’s most prominent “what-if” scenarios. Pagans effectively “redeems” this missed opportunity by finally allowing the pair to lead a series as a family unit.

The plot of Netflix’s upcoming supernatural series Pagans shifts from traditional horror into a psychological territory. The story follows Gus as he navigates the aftermath of his wife’s death, only to find his relationship with his daughter, Alice, taking a dark and sinister turn. Unlike the straightforward survival themes of his previous work, Yeun’s new project appears to focus on the breakdown of the domestic sphere through a supernatural lens.

The creative team behind the series suggests a high-prestige production. Pagans is led by showrunner Joshua Zetumer, the creator of the acclaimed FX series Say Nothing.

Filming for the series is scheduled to begin in New York in the fall of 2026. While a specific release date has not been set, the production timeline suggests a late 2027 arrival on the streaming platform.
