New merchandise for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover Avengers: Doomsday has provided a detailed look at the film’s iteration of the Sentinels. Hot Toys has officially unveiled a Sentinel Jumbo Sofvi Figure, confirming that the mutant-hunting robots will feature a design heavily inspired by their classic comic book appearance.
The collectible stands 60 centimeters (approximately 23.6 inches) tall and is crafted from vinyl as part of the manufacturer’s Sofvi Masterpiece Series. Unlike the sleeker, adaptive versions seen in previous cinematic portrayals, these Sentinels utilize a metallic purple and gray color scheme. The figure includes 18 points of articulation and dual-mode LED light-up eyes that can switch between a green “scanning” mode and an orange “extermination” mode.

Doctor Doom’s Command of the Sentinels
The reveal offers more than just a visual update; it provides a roadmap for how these iconic X-Men villains factor into the narrative of Avengers: Doomsday. The figure is packaged with a five-inch miniature Doctor Doom, designed to recreate a specific sequence where the villain appears to raise the massive robots from the ground. This suggests that in the film’s timeline, Doom may repurpose or reactivate Sentinels previously stationed at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.
This connection between Doctor Doom and the Sentinels is further emphasized by a separate “Ultimate Version” sixth-scale Doctor Doom figure also in development. That high-end collectible includes a diorama base featuring a defeated Sentinel’s hand, cementing the role of the mutant-hunters as a primary force under Doom’s control rather than traditional Doombots.
The choice of vinyl for the jumbo-sized Sentinel explains the figure’s price point of approximately $330, which is lower than many smaller, more complex plastic sixth-scale figures. By using the “Sofvi” (soft vinyl) style, the scale can be significantly larger while maintaining the detail required for the film’s production design.
Directed by the Russo Brothers and featuring the return of Robert Downey Jr. as Victor von Doom, Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026. The film is expected to serve as a massive collision point for the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and members of the X-Men, including Magneto and Beast.
