Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has officially scheduled the digital release of the R-rated horror hit Other Mommy for November 10, 2026. The move to digital retail comes exactly 32 days after the film’s theatrical debut, offering a quick turnaround for the Blumhouse and Atomic Monster production.
The film has emerged as a significant financial success for the studios, grossing approximately $108 million worldwide against a production budget estimated at $18 million to $19 million.
Based on Josh Malerman’s 2024 novel Incidents Around the House, the film stars Jessica Chastain in a demanding dual role, portraying both the character Ursula and the supernatural entity known as Other Mommy. The Motion Picture Association rated the film R for bloody violence and language.
Bonus Features and Physical Release
The November 10 digital launch will provide access to exclusive bonus content designed to give viewers a deeper look at the production and practical effects. The supplementary material includes a featurette titled “Effecting Fear,” along with four deleted or alternate scenes:
- Alternate Car Confrontation
- Dancing at Grandma’s
- The Attic Discovery (Extended)
- Other Mommy’s Whisper
For collectors of physical media, Universal has set the launch for 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD editions for December 29, 2026.
Streaming Roadmap for Peacock and Netflix
Following its tenure on digital retail platforms, Other Mommy will move into its subscription streaming windows. Under the current “Pay-1” agreement for Universal releases, the film is expected to arrive on Peacock around January 2027.
According to projections based on the existing licensing deal between Universal and Netflix, the film is expected to make its debut on Netflix approximately five months after its Peacock premiere, likely in June 2027.
The brand recognition of Blumhouse helped the film become one of the year’s more profitable genre entries.
