Amazon MGM Studios has officially announced “MELANIA, The Series,” a two-part docuseries scheduled to debut exclusively on Prime Video on November 20, 2026. The announcement, made on November 6, follows the 2026 U.S. midterm elections and positions the project as a streaming-focused follow-up to the earlier theatrical documentary released in January.
The series is directed by Brett Ratner, who also helmed the original feature-length film. The project is executive produced by Melania Trump and Marc Beckman. According to the announcement, the series will be available to Prime Video subscribers in over 240 countries and territories.
From Theatrical Release to Streaming Series
The decision to move to a streaming-only series format follows the financial performance of the theatrical film “Melania,” which debuted on January 30, 2026. Despite a reported $40 million acquisition cost, the film grossed only $16.7 million at the box office.
The official November release confirmation identifies the project as consisting of two episodes.
Focus on the Post-Inauguration Mission
The two episodes are titled “Family & Trust” and “Pride & Honor,” specifically focusing on the period immediately following the 47th Presidential Inauguration.
- Episode I: “Family & Trust” covers Melania Trump’s preparations to return to the role of First Lady and examines internal dynamics within the White House during the transition.
- Episode II: “Pride & Honor” details the beginning of her official mission for the American people following the inauguration ceremonies.
Melania Trump has described the series as a more intimate look at her role, noting it offers “more conversation, one-on-one” than the previously released film. This shift in tone aims to provide a more direct perspective on her public and private duties during the start of the administration.
The timing of the announcement, occurring just after the midterm elections, has been characterized by some industry reports from Variety as a “news dump,” coming as the political landscape shifts following the 2026 midterm elections. Despite the box office struggles of the initial film, the streaming series represents Amazon’s continued commitment to the content, leveraging the footage for a global audience on Prime Video.
As reported by the Washington Times, the series focuses on the days immediately following the 47th Presidential Inauguration.
