Bohemia Interactive has released the 1.9.0.37 update for Arma Reforger, introducing the Rally DLC and a comprehensive overhaul of vehicle physics. The update is currently live across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, adding long-requested features such as magazine repacking and full steering wheel support.
Rally DLC and New Vehicles
The headline addition is the Rally DLC, which expands the game’s non-combat activities. The pack includes six dedicated rally stages, with two stages located on each of the game’s islands. To support these time trials, three rally-tuned vehicle variants have been added:
- Šárka 105 RS
- Dana 2001 RS
- Sputnik 600 RS
Additionally, the Tozer 5322 tractor has been added to the general vehicle roster and is now capable of appearing within Conflict game modes.
Vehicle Simulation Overhaul
This update fundamentally changes how vehicles handle in Arma Reforger through a complete simulation overhaul. The technical changes focus on realism and mechanical accuracy, specifically for enthusiast players using specialized peripherals.
Key technical components of the overhaul include:
- Ackermann Steering: Implements more realistic steering geometry where the inner and outer wheels follow different paths during a turn.
- Pacejka Tire Model: A custom implementation of the industry-standard “Magic Formula” tire model to better simulate friction and lateral forces.
- Inter-axle Differential (IAD): Simulation of power distribution between axles for improved off-road and high-speed handling.
- Steering Wheel Support: PC users now have access to full steering wheel support, including H-pattern shifting and force feedback.
Gameplay Mechanics and Logistics
Beyond driving, update 1.9.0.37 introduces several quality-of-life mechanics that change ground-level gameplay. Players can now repack magazines by combining partially used mags of the same ammunition type, reducing inventory clutter. To manage character stamina, canteens are now functional; players can drink from them to restore energy during long treks.
The entrenching tool has also seen an utility buff, as it can now be used to clear away bushes and small foliage to improve lines of sight or clear paths for fortifications.
HQC Balance and Supply Costs
For players in Conflict and HQC modes, the update shifts the resource economy by adjusting the supply costs of key armored assets. These changes appear designed to balance the disparity between US and Soviet light armor efficiency.
- LAV-25: Supply cost increased from 1,800 to 2,100.
- BTR-70: Supply cost decreased from 975 to 850.
Detailed technical changes and bug fixes can be found in the official patch notes hosted on SteamDB.
