Is Love Island’s Milk Challenge the Most Disgusting Yet?

When it comes to cringe-worthy moments, Love Island USA knows how to dial it up, especially when food gets involved. A recent challenge in Season 7, Episode 16, which aired on June 20, left fans gasping as the Islanders tackled an absurd, messy contest dubbed “What’s Your Beef?”

In this unforgettable spectacle, the girls donned quirky milk maid outfits while the boys sported leather chaps. Narrator Matthew Hoffman teased, as the contestants bounced towards the challenge: “The girls are dressed in milk maid outfits and the boys are in leather chaps.”

This challenge had each couple navigate a farm-themed obstacle course. The girls were tasked with guiding their blindfolded partners around barrels in a wheelbarrow-style sprint. Upon reaching the trough, they bobbed for floating apples with fellow Islanders’ faces taped to them, followed by an obligatory kiss.

But the highlight—or perhaps the lowlight—was the milking station. The boys squeezed milk from fake udders, filled their mouths, and transferred it mouth-to-mouth to their partners. Once they accumulated enough liquid in the “bucket of truth,” they read a question aloud like, “Who’s been spreading muck behind people’s backs?” and dumped the milk on the selected Islander. To cap it all off? A steamy, dairy-soaked kiss on a picnic blanket.

“It smells so bad, I like, actually [am] gagging thinking about it,” confided contestant Hannah Fields in a confessional.

Reactions from viewers were swift and scathing, with many threatening to log off. One user exclaimed, “This milk challenge might be the most disgusting challenge in the history of Love Island 🤮🤮🤮🤮,” while another remarked, “I could do Love Island but I draw the line at this whole boy drinking milk straight from the udder and spitting it into my mouth baby bird style.”

It didn’t stop there. “Not them squeezing cow udders with milk and spitting it into their partner’s mouth. Whoever thought this was a good idea to add in this challenge, I hope both sides of your pillow are extra warm 🤢,” tweeted another exasperated fan.

Fans clamored for a petition to ban food challenges altogether, reflecting on how nauseating they’ve become. One user articulated, “These food challenges on Love Island aren’t even raunchy; they’re just nauseating.”

This is not the first instance where the show has taken food-related challenges too far. In past seasons, viewers were subjected to bizarre tasks like “Spit the Roast,” where couples exchanged a full Sunday dinner, mouth-to-mouth, and the infamous Fourth of July event featuring hot dogs and pulled pork slathered in condiments, exchanged without hands.

Perhaps the backlash surrounding food challenges is resonating so much that Love Island UK opted to eliminate them in 2022. The U.S. version, however, shows no signs of letting go of their outrageous food antics.
