First Descendant 1.147: Conquest Difficulty & Loot Buffs

  • Conquest Difficulty Launch: The First Descendant Update 1.147 introduces a limited-time Conquest Difficulty for Karel’s Mothership, featuring a Ranking Run that remains active until October 15, 2026.
  • Economy and Loot Buffs: Rewards for Superconductive Cooling Units have seen a massive increase, jumping from 30 to 194 in Hard Difficulty, while Ancestors Module drop rates have risen to 36.4% on Normal.

The Lore of Karel’s Mothership and Conquest Difficulty

The First Descendant Update 1.147 marks a significant narrative shift as players pursue the primary antagonist following his strategic retreat. The introduction of Conquest Difficulty for Karel’s Mothership is more than just a stats boost; it represents the desperate defensive measures taken by Karel as he retreats into the heart of the Vulgus command structure. This Mothership serves as the final bastion of his immediate influence, and the new difficulty setting reflects the heightened aggression of his elite guard. From September 3, 2026, until October 15, 2026, the Karel’s Mothership Conquest Ranking Run will task Descendants with infiltrating this fortress to climb the leaderboards.

The event is divided into two phases, with the second phase beginning after maintenance on September 17. To encourage community participation, Nexon has launched the Assemble Event, which requires a collective effort of 150,000 Mothership completions across all difficulty levels. Much like how the recent Apex Legends Update 1.000.133 Patch Notes tuned Octane to keep the meta moving, this patch ensures the Vulgus threat scales appropriately for veteran players.

Ancestors Module Utility and Build Evolution

One of the most significant changes in the 1.147 patch involves the Ancestors Modules. Unlike standard Transcendent modules that typically offer linear skill improvements, Ancestors Modules are designed to redefine how a Descendant operates, acting as the ultimate endgame utility. These modules allow for high-tier specialization, often bridging the gap between pure survival and maximum damage output. To assist players in perfecting these builds, Nexon has reduced the cost of Gold, Kuiper Shards, and Superconductive Cooling Units for Ancestors Module Readjustment by 50% during weekend event periods.

Loot accessibility has also been addressed to reduce the grind. On Normal Difficulty, the drop rate for Ancestors Module Loot has been boosted from 22.5% to 36.4%. This adjustment is paired with a new dismantle feature where breaking down an Ancestors Module yields a unique fragment, redeemable at NPC BB-On in Albion. This push for more predictable loot progression is reminiscent of the Stalker 2 Update 1.020 Patch Notes, where the focus shifted toward making high-tier items feel rewarding instead of entirely RNG-dependent.

Addressing the Transcendent Weapon Meta

Nexon is currently tackling a notable disparity between skill-damage and firearm-focused builds. Currently, Transcendent weapons that rely on firearm mechanics suffer from a lower adoption rate because of the operational burden required to keep their special effects active. While skill-based builds offer fast results, weapons like Frost Blossom and Sparky have historically required too much setup. The 1.147 update begins the process of fixing this by applying numerical buffs and fixing specific bugs, such as the incorrect damage interval display on the Emperor’s Guard Lance.

The developers are aiming to make firearm weapons more reliable in combat by reducing the stringent conditions needed to maintain their buffs. Nexon is prioritizing quick balance shifts, a trend also seen in the 007 First Light Update 1.018 Patch Notes, where developers reacted fast to player feedback regarding weapon performance. By balancing the immediate value of skills against the sustained power of firearms, the game’s build diversity is expected to expand significantly in the coming weeks.

Raven Rebalance and Reward Enhancements

Raven has received targeted adjustments to her kit to better align her survivability with her offensive potential. Her Shadow Step skill now recovers two stacks of Raven’s Claw upon activation, providing better resource management during intense encounters. However, to prevent her from becoming untouchable, the Veil of Night Damage Negated Count has been reduced from 7 to 3. This change forces players to be more tactical with their positioning while benefiting from the increased mission rewards now available across the board.

For those grinding materials, the rewards for Superconductive Cooling Units in Hard Difficulty have been substantially increased from 30 to 194 per completion. Additionally, the update fixes several technical issues, including a bug where more than 11 Raven’s Claws could be summoned simultaneously and an issue where Descendants would fall outside the Mothership geometry during the Commander Karel fight. These quality-of-life improvements ensure that the focus remains on the intense action and the pursuit of the new Field Survival Training cosmetics available in the shop.
