The Insta360 Luna Pro is priced at $599, a $170 reduction from the flagship dual-lens Luna Ultra. To reach this price point, the Pro model omits the 3x optical telephoto lens found on the $769 Ultra, instead utilizing a single-lens system co-engineered with Leica.
Hardware and Imaging Architecture
The Luna Pro features a 1-inch-type 8K sensor paired with a lens co-engineered with Leica. The imaging pipeline is powered by a dual AI system that combines a dedicated imaging chip with a 4nm processor to handle 8K processing speeds and Dolby Vision video recording.
One of the device’s specific technical advantages over its rivals is its handling of vertical content. While some competitors are reported to cap vertical video at 3K, the Luna Pro maintains native 4K resolution in vertical mode. The camera adopts a modular “Twist” design, centered around a detachable 2-inch OLED touchscreen.
