Snap has launched “Specs Intelligence,” a new AI-driven service designed to act as an anticipatory assistant for personal organization and productivity. While the software serves as the foundation for Snap’s upcoming augmented reality hardware, it is debuting first as a standalone application for mobile and desktop users.
U.S.-based users aged 18 and older can download a preview version of the Specs app on iOS starting today. This mobile version serves as an entry point into the ecosystem, allowing users to connect Google accounts to gain insights and manage information. However, the iOS version is currently limited in scope; it does not yet feature the full proactive suggestions or the deep organizational capabilities available in the desktop and AR versions.
For users seeking the “full early-access” experience, Snap has released a dedicated macOS application. Unlike the public iOS preview, the Mac version is currently restricted to an invite-only waitlist. This version is designed to handle more complex life-management tasks and provides a more comprehensive look at the AI’s capabilities ahead of a wider rollout.

Productivity Through “Corners” and “Goals”
The Specs Intelligence service is built around two primary features: “Corners” and “Goals.” Corners functions as a digital organization system, categorizing and surfacing information from various data sources into specific hubs for easier access. Goals allows users to set professional or personal objectives, which the AI then helps track and manage over time.
Unlike “My AI,” the chatbot found within the Snapchat app, Specs Intelligence is marketed strictly as a utility and productivity tool. To support this positioning, Snap has established specific privacy guardrails for the service. According to Snap Inc., personal data utilized by Specs Intelligence will not be used to train AI models or to serve targeted advertisements. The system relies on a mix of on-device processing and secure cloud infrastructure to manage user content.
The Specs AR Hardware
While the apps operate independently on smartphones and computers, they are designed to be the “brain” of Snap’s new standalone AR glasses, simply titled “Specs.” The hardware is scheduled to begin shipping this fall, carrying a premium price tag of $2,195 for the standard pair.
