Sabrina Carpenter has been cast to play the legendary Ginger Rogers, while Margaret Qualley will take on the role of Adele Astaire, the older sister and original dance partner of Fred Astaire.
The film, which stars Tom Holland as the iconic entertainer, is set to be directed by Paul King, known for his work on Paddington and Wonka. King is also co-writing the screenplay alongside Steven Levenson. The narrative is expected to lean heavily on the early years of Astaire’s career, specifically his partnership with his sister, drawing from the source material of Kathleen Riley’s biography, The Astaires: Fred & Adele.

Filming is currently scheduled to begin in January 2027. The biopic is being produced by Amy Pascal and Rachel O’Connor through Pascal Pictures, the same team behind Holland’s successful tenure in the Spider-Man franchise.
