Katya Jones Tops Strictly 2026 Leaderboard Amid BBC Commercial Rule Warning

Katya Jones is currently appearing on Strictly Come Dancing. Promotional material for a partnership with an AI fitness brand has recently surfaced, referencing the show’s branding.

The partnership involves advertisements for Magic.fit, an AI smart mirror system. Promotional content for the partnership utilized the phrases “Strictly trained in the comfort of your own home” and invited prospective users to “train with a Strictly professional.”

Despite the warning, Jones and John Nellis finished their first week at the top of the leaderboard.

The 2026 series features a revamped hosting lineup, with Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Johannes Radebe taking over the presenting duties previously held by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.

Performance and On-Screen Clarifications

Jones remains a frontrunner in the current competition. During the first week of the 2026 live shows, Jones and her partner, Northern Irish football content creator John Nellis, topped the leaderboard with a score of 31 points. Their performance established them as early favorites in the race for the Glitterball trophy.

Jones also addressed a separate viral moment that occurred during the season’s launch. After social media users suggested she was seen mouthing the word “fit” during actor Lawrence Robb’s performance, Jones issued a clarification. Speaking via broadcaster Ed Balls, she stated that her comment had been misread and that she actually said “fierce” to describe the routine.

Jones continues on the program as the competition enters its second week.
