Control Resonant Update 1.400 Patch Notes: Unlimited New Game ++ Added

Remedy Entertainment has released the 1.400 (v1.4.0) update for Control Resonant on October 1, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This update significantly expands endgame replayability by introducing unlimited New Game ++ runs and providing players with clearer insight into their character’s strength through a new Build Power visibility metric.

Progression and User Interface Improvements

The 1.400 update addresses several quality-of-life requests regarding character progression and data management. Most notably, the Build Power number is now visible on the bottom left of the Loadout screen, allowing players to quantify the effectiveness of their current gear and ability configurations. This feature offers a more direct way to measure progression compared to previous versions where health and ability caps were adjusted in the 1.300.300 balancing update.

  • Unlimited New Game ++: Players can now restart the campaign indefinitely while retaining their character progression.
  • Increased Save Slots: The Main Menu Save Game slot count has been increased from 5 to 7.
  • Assist Mode Expansion: A new duration multiplier for Power Core Charge has been added, ranging from 100% to 300%.

Combat Balance and the Unknown Zone

Exploration within the Unknown Zone has received a balance pass to make encounters more manageable. Combat intensity in this area has been reduced by 10% to 15%. This change aims to smoothen the difficulty spikes for players who are still optimizing their loadouts in the early stages of their New Game ++ cycles.

Technical Optimizations and Graphics

For PC and console players, update 1.400 targets specific performance bottlenecks and adds peripheral support. On PC, DLSS frame generation has been improved; it now scales the motion blur shutter speed by the generation multiplier to ensure visual consistency at higher frame rates.

Performance on all platforms has been improved by a fix for a specific VFX issue. Previously, players reported significant framerate drops during the Artist Resonant special attack; this has been resolved to maintain a stable experience during the encounter. Peripheral support has also been expanded with the addition of Razer haptic feedback for melee strikes and damage events.
