ITV Studios to Present New Chase Spin-off and 70 Up Documentary at Mipcom 2026

ITV Studios officially unveiled its 10-title formats slate for Mipcom 2026 on October 5, 2026, ahead of the annual television market in Cannes. The studio’s high-profile titles are headlined by a high-stakes adventure spin-off of its long-running game show brand and the final chapter of one of the most celebrated documentary projects in television history.

Leading the entertainment offerings is The Chase Around the World, a 6×60 city-hopping treasure hunt produced by Bright Entertainment. The production label developed the format to pit six pairs of contestants against six “Chasers” in a race across various European cities for a £100,000 prize. Despite reports in late September 2026 suggesting the format might not return for a second series in the UK, ITV Studios is positioning the title as its flagship international format for the Cannes market.

The 2026 slate also features 70 Up, the final milestone of the documentary series that began in 1964. The project has famously tracked the lives of 14 participants every seven years for over six decades. This concluding chapter is presented as two 90-minute specials and marks a significant directorial transition; Oscar-winner Asif Kapadia has taken over the series following the death of original director Michael Apted.

Beyond these tentpole titles, the slate includes a variety of reality and competition formats curated from ITV’s international production hubs in Sweden, New Zealand, and Denmark. Among these is Expedition into the Wild, a survival format that originated in Sweden and has already secured a second-season commission from Kanal 5.
