Capcom has released update 1.012 (Version 1.1.01) for Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, introducing a new “Hasten to the Capital” progression skip and addressing several technical bugs affecting New Game+ playthroughs. This update is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Hasten to the Capital Progression Skip
The primary addition in this update is the “Hasten to the Capital” option, designed to streamline repeat playthroughs. This feature becomes available specifically after clearing the Great Wall Terraces stage. By selecting this option, players can bypass three specific gameplay zones:
- Pilgrim’s Zone
- Matsukawa Colony Zone
- Fuji Frontier Zone
While this skip allows for faster progression toward the end-game, it does carry a restriction: players who choose to skip these zones will not earn achievements or trophies associated with them during that specific New Game run. According to the official Kunitsu-Gami update notes, this is intended to help players reach the final stages of the story more efficiently.
Gameplay Adjustments and FOV Settings
Update 1.012 introduces a highly requested Field of View (FOV) adjustment setting. Players can now find this option within the main menu to customize their visual perspective during combat and exploration.
Several mechanical fixes have also been implemented for Soh’s companion, Koo, and general combat interactions:
- Koo Item Usage: A bug has been corrected where Koo would inappropriately use items on enemies currently in the “staggered” (Zetsu) state.
- Manual: Explosive Arrow: The patch resolves a progression issue where the “Manual: Explosive Arrow” would fail to drop from Keeper Golems during New Game+ playthroughs.
Environmental and Technical Fixes
Beyond gameplay mechanics, the developers have addressed several environmental issues. These adjustments include:
- Fixing model clipping and visible terrain gaps in various stages.
- Adjusting submersion detection depth to ensure Soh and other entities react correctly to water levels.
- General stability improvements to prevent unintended character behavior during complex environmental interactions.
These changes target friction points reported by the community, particularly for those engaging with the title’s post-game content and higher difficulty cycles.
