Insurgency: Sandstorm Operation: Echoes Update 1.32 (v1.016.001) Patch Notes

Insurgency: Sandstorm has launched Update 1.32, titled Operation: Echoes, introducing the return of classic submachine guns and major visual overhauls to core maps. Released on October 14, 2026, for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms (v1.016.001), the update focuses on expanding the arsenal for both factions while improving the stability of community-hosted servers.

New Weapons and Operation: Echoes Content

The primary addition in Operation: Echoes is the introduction of two submachine guns. Security forces now have access to the UM45, while the Insurgent faction receives the MP40. These weapons provide new tactical options for close-quarters engagements across all game modes.

Alongside the free weapon additions, four new premium DLC cosmetic sets are now available:

  • Seasoned Warrior Gear Set
  • Remnant Gear Set
  • Woodwork Weapon Skins
  • Reclaimed Weapon Skins

Map Improvements: Power Plant and Hideout

New World Interactive has implemented a significant visual and structural refresh for the Power Plant and Hideout maps. These updates include improvements to interiors, lighting, and geometry to enhance both the aesthetic quality and the tactical flow of the environments. These changes are designed to modernize the look of these legacy maps while maintaining their original layout for competitive balance.

Performance and Server Fixes

A critical technical fix in Update 1.32 addresses community server performance. The patch reduces excessive CPU usage on community-hosted servers, which previously occurred even when the servers were idle. This change should result in better stability and lower operational costs for server owners.

For console players, a long-standing UI bug has been resolved. The issue that caused controller settings and sensitivity to reset to default after every match is now fixed, allowing players to maintain their preferred control schemes between rounds.

Weapon Animation and Bug Fixes

The update includes a series of refinements for first-person and third-person weapon animations to fix clipping and alignment issues. Notable fixes include:

  • TK-33: Corrected alignment and clipping issues during various animation states.
  • M24 and M82A1: Fixed specific clipping bugs in first-person view.
  • High-Caliber Rifles: Improved overall animation consistency for heavy weapon platforms.

Detailed documentation regarding the technical changes can be found via Focus Entertainment.
