Google officially launched “Notify when left behind” alerts for the Find Hub app on November 5, 2026, bringing proactive anti-loss notifications to the Android tracking ecosystem. The feature, which began appearing in version 3.1.787-06 of the app, alerts users if they move out of range of a registered Bluetooth tracker, such as a wallet tag or key finder.
While Google Play Services release notes from October suggested the feature was active, it did not fully manifest for third-party hardware until today’s application update. The rollout is currently appearing for users across the United States and Europe, specifically supporting third-party hardware from Chipolo and Motorola’s Moto Tag.
Unlike the watch-to-phone separation alerts launched earlier in 2026, these new notifications focus on the connection between a smartphone and individual tracker tags. To prevent unnecessary pings, the Find Hub app allows users to set “Excepted locations”—trusted zones where alerts are suppressed. By default, the app can use the “Home” address saved in Google Maps as a trusted location, though users can manually define multiple other safe zones.
The software update arrives just days before the retail launch of Google’s first-party tracking hardware. The Google Pixel Tag is scheduled to go on sale November 11, 2026. The new hardware will natively support the “Notify when left behind” feature at launch, with pricing confirmed at $29 for a single unit and $99 for a four-pack.
For existing tracker owners, the feature must be enabled within the Find Hub app settings for each specific device. Once active, the system monitors the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connection; if the link is severed while the user is away from a trusted location, a high-priority notification is pushed to the Android handset.
