DBZ79

In the other world, an oni teenager runs a cleaning machine and is distracted by the loud sound of the Walkman, causing the machine to explode. He swallows the liberating Evil Spirit Essence and transforms into a gigantic, child-like monster with dimensional manipulation abilities. As a result, the dead are revived.

Goku and Pikkon fight a tournament when they are interrupted by the appearance of a strange crystal-like substance and are sent to investigate a disturbance by the Grand Kai. They find that the “check-in station” in the afterlife is covered with a crystal-like barrier immune to their energy blasts. From inside the station, her beleaguered servant King Yemma directs them to the monster Janemba, who refuses to bring down the barrier. Goku lure Janimba to Hell while Pikkon works to free Yenma.

Meanwhile, the land is under siege by a group of zombies, soldiers, and ex-villains led by Frieza. They attack a city until Gohan and Fidel step in with the ex to destroy it, causing the villains to scatter. Goten and Trunks collect magical dragon balls, summon the dragon Shenron, and ask him to rebuild the barrier between the living and the dead, but he cannot do so. In Hell, Janemba uses his strange powers for the best Goku to reach Super Saiyan 3 and appears to kill a monster that transforms into a much smaller albeit more powerful and sinister form. Ganimba overwhelms Goku, but Vegeta has his physical body back and arrives just in time for help. However, the two Saiyans are still no match for Janemba and are forced into hiding. Goku suggests using the Fusion Dance technique, but Vegeta proudly refuses to join bodies with Goku.

Pikkon continues to try to free Yemma unsuccessfully and, in his anger, insults the crystalline substance causing it to crack slightly. However, Pikkon’s worst insults do not do enough damage to save Yemma, so he decides to help Goku and Vegeta in their fight. Vegeta finally gives in to Goku’s demands and fuses with him. Still, Vegeta fails to extend his index finger when needed, and the fusion fails, resulting in a weak and chubby form called Viku. Janemba overpowers Veku hard and nearly kills him, but the merger fades, and Goku and Vegeta escape in time. Pikkon arrives to stop Janemba while Goku and Vegeta attempt to merge again, successfully transforming into the mighty Gogeta, who quickly gains an advantage over Janemba and uses his power to cleanse the demon of the evil essence within him, causing him to do so. Return to his oni form.

With Ganimba defeated, his hold on reality disappears, and the deceased returns to the afterlife. After sharing a gentle farewell with Goku, Vegeta returns to his spiritual form and disappears. Back on Earth, Gohan, Videl, Goten, and Trunks leave for their homes. In a post-credits scene, the unsummoned Shenron is still waiting for another wish.
