Scheana Shay is uncovering the rollercoaster of emotions behind one of the most challenging times in her marriage, sharing her insights just ahead of her memoir’s release. The Vanderpump Rules alum recently opened up in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly about her husband Brock Davies‘ infidelity and the steps they’ve taken to rebuild their relationship.
“It takes work every single day,” Shay admitted, revealing the ongoing insecurities that linger from past betrayals. “Just the other day, I saw him swipe and delete a text, and I’m like, ‘What was that?’ And he’s like, ‘Seriously, Scheana?'” Despite her doubts, Shay is determined to move forward with Davies, 38, and emphasizes the importance of communication in their healing process.
“I genuinely believe he would never do anything like that again. I do trust him. I have forgiven him,” she expressed. “We’ve put in the work in couples therapy. We have a very open line of communication. I want to show people that if you truly love someone, a mistake from their past doesn’t have to define the future of your relationship.”
The Affair and Its Aftermath
The emotional affair that changed everything was unveiled earlier this month through an excerpt from Shay’s upcoming memoir, My Good Side, which is set to hit shelves on July 22. The infidelity occurred in 2020 while the couple was living in San Diego during the pandemic, with Shay pregnant with their now 4-year-old daughter, Summer Moon.
In her memoir, Shay recounted the moment Davies confessed to the affair from two years prior, describing her shock and devastation. “I felt completely sick to my stomach,” she wrote. She revealed that Davies’ motivation stemmed from deep-seated fears about fatherhood and unresolved guilt regarding his two older children from a previous marriage. “He was scared about being a father again… and he chose to deal with it by sleeping with someone else,” Shay said, highlighting the conscious decision made by Davies to stray.
While it took time for Davies to come clean, it was the shocking affair involving her former castmates Tom Sandoval, Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, and Ariana Madix—known as Scandoval—that pushed him to confess. “He was worried something would leak. I was thankful it came from him,” Shay shared. “That really broke my heart for him, that he felt like he needed to sabotage something so amazing because he didn’t deserve it.”
Focusing on the Future
Now, as a devoted mother and partner, Shay is not only committed to mending her marriage but also preparing for the challenging conversations ahead with their daughter. “She’s only 4 years old,” Shay said. “Thankfully, we have a bit of time to still figure that out. We’ll talk to our individual therapists, do some more sessions together and figure out how we’re going to have those tough conversations with her, especially about her two older siblings.”
No matter how tumultuous the past has been, Scheana Shay knows one thing for sure: “I just want her to be with someone who treats her with respect.” As she navigates the complexities of love and forgiveness, all eyes will undoubtedly be on this reality star and her journey moving forward. The anticipation for My Good Side grows as fans await more intricate details and reflections from her life.
