Lala Kent is standing firmly by her former Vanderpump Rules co-star Scheana Shay amid shocking revelations about Shay’s husband, Brock Davies. Recent reports unveiled that Davies was unfaithful during Shay’s pregnancy with their daughter, a story that has ignited waves of discussion among fans and followers alike.
This dramatic development comes ahead of Shay, 40’s, memoir release, My Good Side, hitting shelves on July 22. In this highly anticipated book, the reality star opens up about the alleged affair, which reportedly took place in 2020, as detailed in an excerpt published by Glamour on July 10.
Kent, 34, addressed the matter during the July 14 episode of her podcast, Give Them Lala. In it, she confirmed she was aware of Davies’ infidelity but only after some time had passed. “Yes, I did know, but not for a while,” she shared. “Scheana called me and said, ‘I just want to give you the heads-up that tomorrow this article is coming out with the excerpt. And I may need to tap you in. I’m very nervous.’”
Despite the gravity of the situation, Kent praised Shay for her courage in revealing such a personal story. “I won’t share exactly what she said on the phone because that’s between her and her husband,” Kent noted, reflecting on Shay’s writing. “But I thought the excerpt that was pulled from her book was beautifully written. Well done.”
While Kent acknowledged that the news might have caught some fans off-guard, she had already come to terms with the unfolding situation before it became public knowledge. “Not that that matters,” she added, highlighting her detachment from Shay and Davies’ relationship dynamics.
Kent also highlighted the positive changes she has observed in Davies over the years, particularly in his role as a father. “Brock has always been tremendous. Well, not always—we’ve had our ups and downs and I’ve called out some red flags,” she mentioned. “But since then, I’ve seen him be a great father to Summer Moon. I’ve seen him with Ocean and Sosa. I just find him to be very hands-on and great.”
The conversation took an insightful turn when Kent, who herself experienced a public breakup with Randall Emett, 54, spoke about the complexities of life choices. “What I know about life is it doesn’t always go as we planned,” Kent opined. “There are a million moments I look back on in my own life and go, ‘Damn, if I could get a redo I would really do that differently.’ I know for a fact he feels that way.”
As for why Shay chose not to disclose the affair during VPR, even after Davies confessed in 2023, she spoke candidly on her podcast, Scheananigans. “I was afraid to share my story. If I tell people what I’m actually going through, then they’re gonna think that I’m trying to take the attention off what someone else is going through, and make it about me,” she explained.
Shay emphasized that her memoir would finally give her the platform to share her truth. “In my book, I get to make it about me, and you’ll hear the sides of my story that I have never shared until now—in my own words, with my control of the narrative for once.”
Fans eagerly await to dive into Shay’s journey when My Good Side becomes available, with a heightened anticipation surrounding her personal revelations and the deeper narrative behind her public persona.
