You’ve never seen a workout routine like this one from social media stars Darien Johnson and Scott Mathison. The duo has transformed the stage of America’s Got Talent with a unique blend of strength, coordination, and creativity, creating a gym environment unlike any other.
“We each did extreme workouts through our social media channels and we followed each other for a long time,” Scott revealed to judges Simon Cowell, Mel B, Sofia Vergara, and Howie Mandel. “When we started putting our workouts together, it really took us to the next level in terms of filming and creating.”
But Darien and Scott have ambitions that reach beyond the stage. “Our viral videos have garnered about 200 million views, and they’ve received a lot of love from the audience, but we want to break into Hollywood,” Darien disclosed. “We’ve always dreamed of performing our own stunts in an action movie, and this is the perfect opportunity.”
Initially, Simon expressed skepticism as the men lifted their weights, questioning, “How will they make this interesting?” But it quickly became clear that this was no ordinary workout when they showcased their heavy barbells and other gym equipment with flair.
They even invited Sofia and Mel B onto the stage to participate. “I closed my eyes,” Mel B shared after returning to the judges’ table. “What you do is proper fit and hot.”
Sofia chimed in, saying, “This is very interesting. I don’t think we’ve ever seen this on AGT. It’s clearly a tough workout just by looking at your bodies.”
“I think it’s entertaining,” Howie added. “It’s a strength act, it’s an agility act, and it inspires people to get in shape. You definitely checked a lot of boxes.”
Simon noted that many viewers would find their performance intriguing. Before the votes were cast, Mel B sought the opinion of host Terry Crews, who is well-known for his fitness background. “People have no idea how hard this is,” Terry commented. “These are my guys. I love these guys.”
Ultimately, there was no doubt about their success, as the vote was a resounding four yeses.
