Stardew Valley has received a major update this week

The 1.4 update from Stardew Valley went online this week and it’s a big one. The update is now available for Windows PC, Mac and Linux. “Soon there will be Nintendo Switch and mobile versions of the game,” developer Eric Barone said in a blog post – but no exact release date is planned.

There are a number of big changes in Stardew Valley with the update, but it’s the little ones that really make me laugh. For example, divorced spouses will not attend your next wedding, which will save you from some unpleasant moments. Likewise, “divorced spouses do not treat their exes normally during festivals,” according to the patch notes.

Here is a list of highlights:

  • Junimo Kart is now “really fun”
  • Hats on kids!
  • Sea algae can be eaten on the beaches of the tide pool
  • Unmarried people can have Krobus as roommates – YES!
  • Two new monsters
  • The scales can be upgraded to double the inside size
  • 24 new hairstyles, 181 new shirts, 35 new hats, 14 new pants and two new boots
  • Fish ponds added
  • New 14-heart event for spouse
  • New endgame puzzle
  • Trash Can Bear to clean trash can in year three +
  • New mine content

Full patch notes are available on the Stardew Valley website.
