GI Show – PlayStation 25, Game of the Year chats and an interview with Alex Hutchinson

And suddenly it is December. You should tell all your friends how much you love the Game Informer Show and share it with great praise in all your social networks . or at least that’s what I think.

In this week’s episode of The Game Informer Show podcast, we’ll cover a variety of topics so each segment will surprise you. The show begins with Ben Reeves, Jeff Cork, and Matt Miller as we discuss our 25th anniversary PlayStation cover story, Darksider’s Genesis, and Arise: A Simple Story. The entire show is produced by the man in the box, Alex Stadnik (someone also asked for his Twitter handle so you can find him here).

Next we dive headfirst into community emails. Together with Matt Miller, Joe Juba and Andy Reiner, this week we discuss the theme of becoming the “Lords of Gaming” and announcing how we would govern. Good times.

Andy Reiner and special guests from The Video Game History Foundation, Frank Cifaldi and Kelsey Lewin join me for the fourth installment of our Game of the Year chats, where I ask the guests what games define their year. This segment will go through the rest of the year as we invite editors (and guests) every week to talk about games that have influenced their year ahead of 2019’s Top 50 Game Informer.

Finally, we talk to Alex Hutchinson, co-founder and creative director at Typhoon Studios. We’re talking about his story (Spoiler Alert: he was Creative Director for Assassin’s Creed III and Far Cry 4, among others) and her upcoming release Journey to the Savage Planet. Always entertaining to chat with Alex.
