Twitter closed the account of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei against the backdrop of his threat to assassinate former US President Donald Trump.
Khamenei had released a video clip simulating the assassination of the former US president, against the backdrop of the assassination of the Iranian Quds Force commander, Qassem Soleimani, two years ago.
Iranian news agency Mehr said: “Twitter closed the leader’s official account after publishing cartoons simulating the assassination of Trump, to avenge him for his involvement in the assassination of Qassem Soleimani.”
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki declined to comment on a video posted on the site web of Iranian Supreme Leader depicting a drone strike that killed former US President Donald Trump.
In a related context, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby commented on Khamenei’s publication, saying, “We are aware of this and see it as part of Iran’s subversive activities in the region and a threat to our security.”
“The content of the video is a continuation of Iran’s support for terrorist networks in the Levant, in Middle East and the region, and support for extremist groups in Iraq and Syria attacking our forces, “Kirby said.
Asked whether he would take these threats seriously, a Pentagon spokesman said: “We take any threat from Iran very seriously, because we have forces in the region and they need protection. in so that they can continue to confront Isis “.
