It seems that every other position is being decimated by injuries right now and while many scientists are dealing with abnormalities and bruises (Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, Jameis Winston), it is a fairly stable position in terms of health. In terms of results, well, this is a different story. This week’s QB weekly rankings reflect this, with several late-season sleepers increasing thanks to favorable racing.
Ryan Tannehill (against the Texans) is in the process of transferring teams to fantasy titles that nobody was expecting even in the middle of the season. Winston (@ Lions) continues to wrestle and Jimmy Garoppolo (against ATL) has shown he can take advantage of bad pass defenses. Baker Mayfield (@ Cardinals) is also a great fighter this week despite the disappointing Week 14. There is no defense allowing more fantasy points in QBs than Arizona, so the bounce look is right.

We also like Brady (@ Bengals) and Ryan Fitzpatrick (@ Giants) to get back on track, while Kyler Murray (vs. Browns) and Derek Carr (vs. Jaguars) decide on any of these four vs. of Dak Prescott (vs. Rams), Aaron Rodgers (vs. Bears), Jared Goff (@ Cowboys) and Jacoby Brissett (@ Saints) will not be easy, prospects. Throwing deeper sleepers in very favorable races, such as Gardner Minshew (@ Raiders) and Daniel Jones / Eli Manning (against dolphins), becomes even more difficult. Even newcomer Drew Lock (@ Chiefs) will report on how well he has played, though we don’t really like the matchup itself.
A pair of QBs we don’t like this week are Kirk Cousins (@ Chargers), Josh Allen (@ Steelers) and Matt Ryan (@ 49ers). Yes, the Niners were just chopped up by Drew Brees, but that was in the Superdome. Ryan is usually worse on the road and with Calvin Ridley (abdomen) hitting and Austin Hooper (knee) not having 100 percent, he may not have enough weapons to exploit.

Once again, it is a week with many choices that are worthwhile. After some owners burned out last week racing with Brees or even Philip Rivers, you can bet there will be a strong “stick to yours” feeling this week. That’s OK – if you have the right nails. We usually recommend playing matchups with proven QBs, so if there is one available with better matching, don’t be afraid to make a move.
