Meta launched a new “Spaces” feature for its Muse AI assistant on November 6, 2026, enabling users to generate custom, interactive app-like interfaces through natural language text descriptions. The update allows the assistant to move beyond standard chat responses by building functional dashboards and mini-applications that aggregate data from multiple third-party services.
The feature is powered by a specialized version of the “Muse Wonder” AI model. Unlike static interfaces, these Spaces perform background data synchronization to update information such as pricing, dates, and schedules without requiring a new user prompt.
Security and “Sentinel” Architecture
To handle the privacy concerns of an “agentic” AI interacting with personal data, Meta runs each agent within an isolated environment called a “Muse Secure VM.” This architecture is designed to protect user data while Muse pulls information from external sources.
As reported by CellCog, Meta utilizes a security sub-system named “Sentinel” to act as a gatekeeper. Sentinel monitors the agent’s actions within a Space and gates all internet communications to prevent unauthorized data exfiltration or unintended actions. This security layer is critical as Muse integrates with a variety of third-party connectors, including Gmail, Google Calendar, OpenTable, and Notion.
Regional Availability and Cross-Platform Support
The Spaces feature is currently available on iOS, Android, the web, and a newly released dedicated Muse Mac app. While the rollout is global, specific connectors and regional availability are currently focused on the United States, Canada, Japan, and Singapore.
Meta has also introduced a scheduling capability that allows users to swap between different Spaces automatically based on the time of day or day of the week. For example, a user could set a “Morning Routine” space to activate at 7:00 AM and transition to a “Project Management” space during work hours.
The Competitive Landscape and Access
The launch of Spaces positions Meta directly against rivals in the agentic AI market, such as Claude Duet and OpenAI Dots.
Currently, Spaces is a single-user experience. Meta has indicated it is investigating methods for users to share their created Spaces and collaborate within them, though no timeline for those features has been established.
