The Fun Pimps have released update 1.340.004 for 7 Days to Die on October 28, 2026. This hotfix specifically targets critical errors introduced with the V3.4.0 Stable build earlier in the week, most notably resolving a persistent issue with inventory management and multiplayer stability.

Critical Fixes in Update 1.340.004

The primary focus of this hotfix is the restoration of inventory functionality. Prior to this patch, players reported that locked inventory slots would frequently reset after closing the inventory screen. This update ensures that slot locks remain persistent across gameplay sessions.

Additionally, the patch addresses a significant technical hurdle for multiplayer groups. A crash was identified occurring in shared games when players attempted to engage with quests that were started before the transition to version V3.4.0. This hotfix stabilizes those legacy shared quests to prevent further disconnects or client crashes.

Recent Features from V3.4.0 Stable

The 1.340.004 hotfix maintains the feature set introduced in the V3.4.0 Stable release on October 26. Key quality-of-life improvements from that major update include:

  • Inventory Organization: A new search bar and category filters have been added to both the player backpack and storage containers, allowing for faster item retrieval.
  • Trader Drone Recovery: Players who have lost a Robotic Drone or found one stuck in the environment can now speak to a Trader NPC to request a recovery.

This update cycle arrives as The Fun Pimps officially joined Behaviour Interactive in October 2026, marking a new chapter for the studio’s long-term development of the survival title.

Known Issues and Gameplay Limitations

Despite the recent fixes, several issues remain on the developer’s tracking list for future updates:

  • Euthanizer Perk: This perk currently triggers during combat but fails to provide its intended gameplay effects.
  • Campfire Consumption: Items currently cannot be consumed directly from the Campfire interface; players must move food or drink to their backpack before using them.

Players on PS5, PC (Steam), and Xbox Series X|S can download the 1.340.004 update now to apply these stability fixes to their current saves.
