ACT Expo features Freightliner’s debut of eM2 medium-duty electric truck

Daimler Truck North America has revealed the Freightliner eM2, an electric medium-duty truck with a range of 180 miles for the Class 6 version and 250 miles for the Class 7. The truck, which features the electric Detroit ePowertrain, will be produced at the company’s Portland plant from Q4 2019. Orders can be placed immediately. The eM2 has standard driver-assist systems and connected vehicle tools for monitoring data such as battery health. The launch follows that of the eCascadia, an electric Class 8 tractor, in June 2018.
