Barbie x Ted Lasso Collection: Buy Your Favorite Characters Now, but One Iconic Character is Missing!

Barbie and Ted Lasso Join Forces for a Special Collection

Barbie x Ted Lassoc

This year, both Barbie and Ted Lasso had significant achievements in their respective realms. Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster film dominated the box office, while Jason Sudeikis’ hit comedy concluded its award-winning run with a bang, hinting at possible future adventures. Now, these two iconic brands have collaborated to bring fans a special collection just in time for the holidays.

Introducing the Barbie Signature Line

Thanks to Mattel’s Barbie signature line, fans can now purchase dolls of the beloved Ted Lasso characters, including Ted Lasso himself, Rebecca Welton, and Keeley Jones. Priced at $50 each, these dolls capture the essence of their on-screen counterparts.

A Missing Piece: Roy Kent

While it’s fantastic to see toys of Ted Lasso characters available for purchase, there’s an obvious omission that we cannot ignore. Where is Roy Kent? Many fans, myself included, were hoping to add Brett Goldstein’s beloved coach to our collections. Perhaps the decision was made due to the limitations of choosing only three characters.

The Demand for More

However, the absence of Roy Kent and other Ted Lasso cast members is disappointing, as their popularity and fanbase would undoubtedly drive sales. Imagine having a Dani Rojas Barbie or a doll of Jamie Tartt. It would be wonderful to have a complete collection that includes characters from AFC Richmond, the Diamond Dogs, and even the loyal pub-goers.

The Selection Process

In the end, it appears that the chosen characters – Ted, Rebecca, and Keeley – were based on their marketability and high likelihood of being purchased. Although these characters are great choices, it’s puzzling that Roy Kent didn’t make the cut.

Seeking Inclusion for Roy Kent

While I’m no marketing genius, I do understand the Ted Lasso fandom’s affection for Roy Kent and his development. It’s truly baffling that he was excluded from the doll collection. If Mattel decides to release a second line of Barbies for this collection, I strongly believe that Roy Kent should be included.

The Future of Ted Lasso

For now, these Barbies offer the most enjoyment for Ted Lasso fans. However, the uncertainty looms over whether the series will return or spin off after its third season in 2023. Although it’s disappointing that Roy Kent is missing from this collection, the dolls themselves are delightful. And who knows, maybe the grumpy but lovable character will find his way into another line of Ted Lasso Barbies, because as we all know, “he’s here, he’s there, he’s everywhere!”
