Haaland makes history as he leads Manchester City to triumph over Leicester in English Premier League

Norwegian footballer Erling Haaland helped lead Manchester City to a 3-1 victory over Leicester City in the 31st round of the English Premier League. Haaland scored twice in the 13th and 25th minutes, with the latter being awarded as a penalty kick. His teammate John Stones scored the opening goal in the fifth minute. Clichy Ihanicho scored the only goal for Leicester City in the 75th minute. With his two goals, Haaland takes his tally to 32 goals this season, inching closer to the Premier League’s historic goalscorer record of 34 goals in a single season held jointly by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer. Haaland’s season record has already surpassed those of Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo, both of whom scored 31 goals in one season. Haaland now compares to Liverpool’s top scorer Mohamed Salah, who scored 32 goals in the 2017/2018 season. Manchester City rose in the standings to second place with 70 points, while Leicester City remained in penultimate place with 25 points.
