Josh Gordon had plenty of opportunities to play wide receiver for the Browns, Patriots and Seahawks. Now suspended for violating NFL substance abuse policy for the fifth time in his career, running close to the void for his chances. He saw his time with Cleveland come to an end after six off-season seasons when he was in New England last year. After the Pats cut last month, the Seahawks took him in with a resignation.

October 7, 2010 – Gordon, then a sophomore at Baylor, is asleep in the passenger seat of a car belonging to his teammate Willie Jefferson, who is also passing out of a Taco Bell. Both Gordon and Jefferson reported drug abuse after finding marijuana in the car. Jefferson started the team with the second such offense, and the charges were later charged against Gordon.
July 25, 2011 – Gordon is suspended indefinitely by the program by Baylor coach Art Briles for violating the team’s rules. It was later reported that Gordon had failed a drug test as he tested positive for marijuana.
August 25, 2011 – Gordon decides to move from Baylor to Utah. “We felt it was worth a second chance and we gave it,” Utes coach Kyle Whittingham said. Before the deadline expired, Gordon thought about joining the NFL draft this summer. He wouldn’t play down for Utah.
July 12, 2012 – Gordon goes into the NFL draft, the Browns use a second option to pick him.
July 16, 2012 – Gordon has signed his first NFL contract, a four-year, $ 5.3 million deal with the Browns.
September 5th-5th. 30, 2012 – Gordon plays in all 16 games for the Browns and starts 13 as an impressive league. He places 50 catches for 805 yards and 5 TDs.
June 7, 2013 – Gordon takes over NFL’s first suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. He is forced to miss the first two games of the Browns’ season.
November 24-Dec. 1, 2013 – Gordon becomes the first NFL player to post consecutive 200-meter shooting games, destroying the Steelers for 237 and then raising 261 more than the Jaguars.
December 27, 2013 – Gordon gets his name in the Pro Bowl with the power to lead the league with 1,646 yards. He also won the first team All-Pro for this breakout season.
July 5, 2014 – Gordon was arrested on suspicion of driving while in Raleigh, N.C. Gordon was reported to have accelerated and had a blood-alcohol content of 0.9, above the legal limit.
August 27, 2014 – Gordon takes over the NFL’s second suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy, this time for a whole year.
September 19, 2014 – Gordon has reduced his suspension to 10 games in line with the new NFL policy.
November 17, 2014 – Gordon is restored by the NFL. This week, in his first game, the Falcons burn for eight catches and 120 yards.
December 27, 2014 – Gordon is suspended by the Browns for a game, the finale of their season against the Ravens, in violation of team rules.
January 25, 2015 – Gordon faces a second suspension of the NFL two years after a positive alcohol test.
February 3, 2015 – Gordon is suspended by the NFL for a year again without pay and is not eligible for a refund until the start of the 2016 season.
January 20, 2016 – Gordon is applying for reintegration into the NFL.
April 12, 2016 – Gordon’s report on reintegration is rejected because of another failed drug trial.
July 25, 2016 – Gordon is reinstated by the NFL on condition that he can attend training camp, but remains posted for the first four games of the regular season.
