He pointed out that hydrogen is the greatest way to offset emissions through carbon capture and storage, because most of the hydrogen production, about 95% of its production, is gray and that will not benefit the hydrogen. climate change.
He said carbon reduction depends on methane emissions and how carbon capture is monitored during the energy and hydrogen production stages.
He continued: “At the same time, we can play a strategic role in green hydrogen, especially in the capture of waste that occurs during production processes, such as torches. Many countries in the region are in able to produce oil while burning gas, and this is considered a waste ».
He explained that “we must be practical in using the infrastructure we have in using the production of other energy sources in the region”.
