Is There A Trailer for PSYCHO-PASS: Providence?

The English dub trailer for PSYCHO-PASS: Providence came out on YouTube on June 22. Production I.G. brings their A game, so it’s no surprise that the animation looks great. “Tjisha” by Egoist and “Alexithymia Spare” by Ling Tosite Sigure, the film’s main and ending themes, are played in the trailer. The trailer doesn’t say much about the story but shows that the themes of justice and social control will still be important in PSYCHO-PASS: Providence. It also gives us a quick look at some of the Providence characters we haven’t seen since the first series.

What is PSYCHO-PASS: Providence Plot?

The world of PSYCHO-PASS, which is about stopping criminals before they do anything, is a lot like the world of Minority Report. PSYCHO-PASS: Providence will spotlight Akane Tsunemori, the original main character of the series, who works as an Inspector for the Criminal Investigation Department. Akane and her coworkers can read a person’s “crime coefficient,” or how likely they are to commit a crime, by using weapons called Dominators. People who have a crime coefficient that is too high are locked up. People with very high crime rates are sometimes let out of prison to work under the close supervision of Inspectors. People have said that PSYCHO-PASS: Providence is the untold story that ties the franchise’s movies and TV shows together. That should be enough to make it worth it, but the details of our plot are also very interesting. The official summary says that Akane and Shinya, her former coworker and prisoner, will get back together.

January 2118. Chief Inspector of the Criminal Investigation Department, Akane Tsunemori, receives a report of an incident on a foreign vessel – the body of Professor Milicia Stronskaya has been discovered. Behind the incident is a group known as the Peacebreakers, a foreign paramilitary organization and a new outside threat who are targeting the professor’s research papers known as the “Stronskaya Document”. Reunited with Shinya Kogami, a former fugitive from the Criminal Investigation Department, Akane grapples with a case that quickly escalates beyond their expectations. The Stronskaya Papers could reveal a truth that would shake Japan’s government, and even the Sibyl System, to the core. It is in this untold story that the missing link is revealed.

Who is the Director of PSYCHO-PASS: Providence?

Naoyoshi Shiotani, who has worked on all of the PSYCHO-PASS movies, is in charge of PSYCHO-PASS: Providence. As an animator, Shiotani has worked on Attack on Titan, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Since PSYCHO-PASS and Ghost in the Shell have similar themes, it’s not surprising that he’s been a great fit for this franchise.

Makoto Fukami and Tow Ubukata wrote the script for PSYCHO-PASS. It was based on a story by Ubukata. Both Ghost in the Shell: Arise and RWBY: Ice Queendom were written by Tow Ubukata. He wrote the script for PSYCHO-PASS 2 as well. Mokoto Fukami has written for several series and movies in the PSYCHO-PASS franchise, and he will also write the upcoming Resident Evil: Death Island.
