Putin: We are not trying to fuel war and we have not refused to negotiate

Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed on Thursday that his country is not trying to fuel the war, it is trying to end it.

He said today in a press conference that all armed conflicts end with negotiations and Russia has not refused to negotiate.

He also added that US delivery of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine would prolong the crisis.

We will destroy the Patriot systems

Putin explained that the “Patriot” systems are old and do not work like the Russian “S-300” systems, adding: “We will destroy the Patriot systems and the West will have to introduce other weapons.”

He also pointed out that the United States has been involved in the conflict for a long time in Ukraine, noting that Washington helped extremist nationalists seize power in Ukraine.

“The United States helped bring ultranationalists to power in Ukraine,” he added.

Ukraine has started the war

Furthermore, he clarified that “Ukraine started the war and abandoned the agreements of pace”, noting that there was no other choice but to launch the military operation in Ukraine.

“Russia is confident in achieving its goals in Ukraine, and there is no room to retreat,” he added.

The Russian president confirmed that Moscow will boost its military capabilities by adding advanced weapons earlier this year, noting that his country has developed the Russian army’s weapons for defense, not attack.

The Russian economy has declined… but it hasn’t collapsed

In addition, the Kremlin leader said: “The output of Ukraine’s military-industrial complexes is close to zero”.

“We have destroyed all Soviet weapons that NATO countries supplied to Ukraine,” he added.

Furthermore, the Russian president acknowledged the decline of the Russian economy, but confirmed that it has not collapsed.
