Eder Militao added the second goal for Real in the 39th minute, and substitute Marco Asensio scored the third in the closing seconds of the game. Real Madrid now has 56 points in the league, six behind the leaders Barcelona, who they face on Sunday. Espanyol remains in thirteenth place with 27 points. Real Madrid’s next match is against their English guests, Liverpool, in the second leg of the sixteenth round of the European Champions League on Wednesday. They won the first leg with a score of 5-2.
