Saudi Arabia and China Sign Cooperation Agreement in Accounting and Professional Work

Today, Monday, Saudi Arabia and China signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of accounting, supervisory and professional work, according to what Saudi media reported.

Key Figures Involved in the Agreement

The document was signed on the Saudi side by the head of the General Auditing Bureau, Hossam bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Anqari, and on the Chinese side by the Auditor General of the National Audit Office, Hu Kai.

Location and Presence

The signing took place in Beijing, in the presence of the Saudi Ambassador to China, Abdul Rahman bin Ahmed Al-Harbi.

Aim and Objectives of the Memorandum

Al-Anqari explained, “This memorandum comes as an extension of the memorandums of understanding that the General Auditing Bureau concluded with a number of counterpart agencies in sisterly and friendly countries, which in their entirety reflects the high professional position that the General Auditing Bureau holds at the regional and international levels, and its important role in sharing its professional expertise. Distinguished with counterpart bodies that are members of regional and international organizations of supreme institutions of public financial oversight and accounting.”

He added that the memorandum aims to enhance cooperation between the General Auditing Office and the National Audit Office of the Republic of China in the field of financial auditing, compliance, and performance oversight, through a number of research and advisory projects, and organizing meetings, conferences, and training programs on topics of common interest, within the framework of the international organization. The Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), and the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), of which both parties participate as members.
