The Bizarre kids show Mortal Kombat Ultra Girls has been reportedly leaked

A Redditor who claims to work for Warner Bros has passed what he claims to be a Mortal Kombat kids cartoon canceled by the company.

Mortal Kombat isn’t exactly what many would consider a family-friendly game franchise. It is notorious for its gore that mesmerized audiences in the 90s and was one of the games responsible for creating the ESRB.

Now it seems like Warner Bros tried to market the game to kids in the form of a strange animated show supposedly called Mortal Kombat Ultra Girls.

On the Mortal Kombat subreddit, user KeyConstruction8 mentioned that the show would have consisted of 52 episodes of about 11 minutes each.

Could Mortal Kombat Work As A Kids Show?

“WB has cold feet and we don’t know if this will actually be released or fully closed. Most of the boards and voices are done, but not the last half of the EPS animation. We’ve done 26 and want them out,” wrote the user.

According to Redditor, the original executives who lit the project green have left, and the new ones may put the title on hold for fear of setbacks from fans and parents.

“MKUG emerged from someone on high who it was [adamant] that the franchise is marketable beyond extreme violence,” they continued. “It worked for the ’90s movie. He grew up watching things like Robocop and the Rambo cartoons, so they saw the potential of merchandising.”

According to the leaker, MK Ultra Girls can be canceled.

Allegedly, a typical episode would have centered on a new student, Cassie Cage, and her friends Jackie Briggs and Frost. After all, they would face the challenges of the Shaolin Showdown style with opposing school factions.

“There’s a lot of gallows-type humor that drives PG. We had a lot of freedom. But no blood or weapons,” the delicacy revealed. “The MK Ultra title pun was intended with the humor of this show. WB loves that humor.”

The leaker also showed off some screenshots of the show, and they seem wild.

Take all of this with a grain of salt, of course, as it could be an elaborate troll, but this certainly sounds like one of the craziest children’s cartoons in recent history, and only time will tell if it will ever be the light of day beheld.
