Apple released the second developer beta of iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2 on September 21, 2026, continuing a rapid testing cycle just five days after the initial beta. The update carries build number 24B5089g.
The iPhone Duo is Apple’s first foldable device, featuring a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display. The foldable hardware is scheduled for an October 23 release at a starting price of $1,999.
Expansion of Apple Intelligence and Siri
The iOS 27.2 beta 2 includes a significant expansion of Siri’s AI-driven capabilities. Early documentation and testing indicate that Apple Intelligence support for Siri is expanding to five new languages: French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. This expansion allows a larger global user base to access the more context-aware and natural-language processing features introduced with the iPhone 17 Pro and newer hardware.
The Health app has also received a substantial update in this build. Two new sections, labeled “Insight” and “Longevity,” leverage Apple Intelligence to analyze historical health data. The Insight tab provides personalized trends based on activity and sleep patterns, while the Longevity tab uses biological markers to offer suggestions on long-term wellness and aging metrics.
Functional Fixes and Regional Adjustments
Developers currently enrolled in the program can download the update via the Software Update section in the Settings app by toggling on the Developer Beta option. While a public beta version is expected to follow shortly, users are advised that early developer builds may still contain stability issues affecting battery life and third-party app compatibility.
