End of Abyss Update 1.014 Patch Notes Fixes Bridge Soft-Locks

The End of Abyss update 1.014.000, released October 7, 2026, prevents a progression-blocking issue by ensuring bridges remain extended even after a player dies. This patch focuses on resolving state-tracking errors and fixing performance regressions introduced in the previous version.

Bridge States and Progression Fixes

The primary focus of version 1.014.000 is the stabilization of bridge mechanics. Previously, certain bridges could reset to a retracted state if the player died after extending them, potentially soft-locking the save file. Bridges will now remain in their intended positions regardless of player death.

  • Preventative Measure: This update prevents the bridge-reset issue from occurring on new or unaffected playthroughs.
  • Existing Save Files: Players who have already encountered a broken bridge state that blocks progress will require a corrective fix scheduled for the upcoming Patch 1.015.
  • Save Integrity: A bug that caused game progress to carry over between separate, independent save files has been resolved, ensuring data remains isolated to the specific slot.

Logbook and Map Updates

Tracking and completionist mechanics have been updated to be more reliable. Unique enemies are now automatically added to the Logbook upon defeat. The in-game map has also received logic updates. Door icons on the map will now correctly update their status if story progression in a different level unlocks them. This ensures the map accurately reflects the current accessible paths across interconnected zones.

Combat and Performance Adjustments

Update 1.014.000 addresses technical issues that appeared in version 1.013, specifically targeting reports of launching failures and inconsistent FPS. Additionally, specific boss encounter bugs have been addressed to improve combat fairness.

  • Radiation Host: Bugs associated with the Radiation Host encounter no longer damage the player after the boss has been defeated.
  • Stability: Performance fixes address frame rate drops and startup issues identified in the previous patch cycle.
