Aina opened pre-orders for its titanium AI Ring on November 5, 2026, positioning the wearable as a tactile controller for AI agents and desktop applications. Priced at an introductory $399, the device moves away from the touch-sensitive surfaces common in smart rings, instead utilizing a physical joystick and a built-in display to manage digital tasks.

The ring is designed to function as an intermediary for “AI agents”—software capable of performing multi-step tasks across different platforms. At launch, the device focuses on iOS and macOS compatibility, allowing users to control applications such as Zoom or dictate notes directly into their computer. Aina is utilizing Anthropic as its primary AI inference provider to power these interactions.

Tactile Control and Private Audio

The hardware marks a departure from earlier prototypes, such as the 2019 Kickstarter version which relied on touch gestures. The production model’s physical joystick was selected to provide more reliable feedback for navigating the small integrated screen.

For audio, the ring employs Near Field Directional Sound (NFDS). This technology allows users to take phone calls or listen to AI responses by holding their finger to their ear, projecting sound specifically toward the ear canal to maintain privacy without the need for earbuds.

Predictive Cues and Software Integration

The device runs on a proprietary “Context Aware Operating System” that powers a feature called Aina Cues. This predictive engine integrates with a user’s calendar, location data, and email to suggest actions before they are manually requested. For tasks that are not natively integrated into the OS, the ring accesses AI agent platforms like Muse and Instinct through virtual browsers.

The development of the ring follows a $5.5M seed funding round secured in July 2026. The hardware itself is an evolution of “Dune” (previously known as Project Mirage), a desktop controller concept the company showcased at CES 2026.

Availability and Specifications

The Aina Ring is constructed from titanium and is rated for a battery life of up to 18 hours. While the company intended the device for all-day proactive notifications, users will need to manage the 18-hour window for continuous use.

Key details for early adopters include:

  • Launch Price: $399 (Introductory)
  • Compatibility: iOS and macOS only at launch; Android support is not currently available for “Gold tier” features.
  • Shipping: Units are scheduled to begin shipping in January 2027.
  • Core Tech: Anthropic-driven AI, physical joystick navigation, and NFDS audio.

While the ring offers deep integration with Apple’s ecosystem for controlling macOS apps, the company has not yet confirmed a specific timeline for expanding its “Gold tier” feature set to Android users.
