1. Season 1
In season 1, we meet Takemichi Hanagaki, the dissatisfied protagonist who learns about the death of his ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, involving the Tokyo Manji Gang. One day, he is mysteriously pushed onto train tracks, only to find himself twelve years in the past.
In this past timeline, Takemichi and his friends plan to fight against the second years of Shibuya Third Middle School. However, they encounter Kiyomasa and his gang of third-years, resulting in Takemichi and his friends becoming soldiers of the Tokyo Manji Gang.
Throughout this arc, Takemichi realizes the gravity of his situation and decides to change the future to save Hinata. He learns that his actions in the past have significant consequences for the future.
This arc sets the stage for Takemichi’s journey to alter the present by changing events in the past.
The Moebius Arc, also known as the Battle of 8/3 Arc, spans chapters 13 to 33 of the Tokyo Revengers manga.
In this arc, Takemichi and Naoto confront Osanai, the former leader of the gang Moebius, to learn about Draken’s death. They discover that the incident on August 3rd, which sparked conflicts within the Tokyo Manji Gang, was planned by someone. Takemichi decides to return to the past and prevent this from happening.
After time jumping, Takemichi advises Mikey to call off the fight, but Mikey is determined to crush Moebius. Takemichi realizes that stopping Moebius would end Toman. Valhalla eventually absorbs Moebius, resulting in a change of events.
The Valhalla Arc takes place after the conflict with Moebius. Following the accident that led to Atsushi Sendo and Hinata Tachibana’s deaths, Takemichi decides to return to the past.
Upon his return, Takemichi learns that Tetta Kisaki has become a member of Toman at Mikey’s request. Keisuke Baji, on the other hand, joins the rival gang Valhalla. With these problems escalating, Mikey asks Takemichi to bring Baji back to Toman, leading to a series of events that ultimately affect the gang’s future.
2. Season 2 / Christmas Showdown Arc
In season 2, Toman has been taken over by Kisaki, with Mikey missing and several members killed. Takemichi, along with Kazutora, seeks answers from Naoto about the future they’re facing. After watching a video of himself ordering Hinata Tachibana’s death, Takemichi decides to return to the past once again.
Upon his return, Takemichi encounters Hakkai Shiba, one of the members responsible for Toman’s future. However, twelve years earlier, Hakkai seemed to be a friendlier person. Through the mission of saving Hakkai, Takemichi forms an unbreakable friendship with both Hakkai and Chifuyu.
Takemichi’s goal this time is to stop Hakkai from joining Black Dragon and protect Taiju’s sister, Yuzuha. However, the consequences of his actions lead to a reality even worse than before.
